Just know I was very disappointed as a tattoo “virgin.” I booked two weeks out from my first session, paid the $400 deposit (which was not returned), but was unable to make my appointment due to work conflicts. Instead of being flexible with a possible reschedule, i was labeled a “no-show.” Very well. But add to that the abrasive nature of personal treatment, I was denied my initial request, persuaded into a different direction with little to no input in design, and was given limited projection in progress. The customer felt that their input in the design process was limited and that the artist was not accommodating. However, the positive reviews highlight the artist's skill in creating custom designs and his ability to make clients feel comfortable. This suggests a potential inconsistency in customer experience. Good to know before you book
- Traditional pieces tend to be quoted by piece, not hourly. Ask for flash sheets if you want a same-week appointment.
- Larger Japanese pieces are usually booked across multiple sittings — plan for at least two visits.
- Cover-ups are quoted in person — bring a clear photo of the existing piece before requesting a quote.
- Walk-in availability isn't always posted online — a quick phone call is the fastest way to know if they can fit you in today.
- Calendars tend to book several weeks out — reach out as early as possible if you have a target date.

My wife and I both got tattoos from Mike s as a ten year anniversary gift to ourselves. Mine was my first one ever and hers was her second with Mike. We had a consultation with him together where he took some of our concepts and things we both like and created some amazing designs. With his vast experience, he was able to recommend some design choices and steer us in a direction that we both were very happy with. He made things very comfortable during the sessions. The studio is very clean and inviting. The end result turned out better than I anticipated. I’m very happy with his work. Mike is truly a master of his craft. I really appreciate that he has mastered the entire process. He focuses on quality art that will stand the test of time rather than flashy and trendy.

I hope you read not just all negative reviews, but the business responses to said reviews. Interesting business practices…go elsewhere.
Mikes been tattooing me for 15 years. I started with him in New York now I’m planning to get my other sleeve done so I will fly in from Florida to Austin. He does awesome work that hold up really well. A true artist.
