This will be a little long winded, but hopefully helpful to anyone considering visiting Chariot Tattoo/Tony Ritter - I met Tony by chance at a tattoo convention that my son dragged me along to, I didn't even want to go. I have a few tattoos and one of my biggest regrets was the last one I got that was supposed to be a "cover up." It turned into a sloppy mess on my arm that I thought maybe one day would have worked on or removed. It was that way for 7 years and I had basically just accepted I would live with it. Mainly because I hadn't found anyone that could remove it and then any artist I liked enough to have anything done to replace it. That changed when I met Tony and saw his work, I was blown away by it and couldn't believe they were real tattoos. Except of course, he was doing one on a real human at the convention, so that proved it... We started talking and he told me his shop also does laser removal and we could get started pretty soon. So, I booked online which was super easy, and literally minutes later his wife Stephanie called to talk about it and get me scheduled. Super easy, I was on the books for something like a week or two later. The shop was really nice, much classier than others I've been in and clean. The laser treatment was quick, I had a fairly large tattoo lasered and it took only about 20-30 min for the whole thing. I'm scheduled to go back for my next session in about a week. Stephanie did the laser treatment and she was easy going and very knowledgeable about the system and all the weird questions I asked about it. She definitely knew what she was doing and the equipment is state of the art. In the mean time, Tony had some time open up on his books from canceled appointments and I was ready to get work done by him, so since my laser area wasn't ready, I had Tony help me work up an idea for a sleeve for my other arm. What he came up with was truly amazing and I honestly wondered how he was going to translate it into a tattoo. BUT, I had seen his other work and knew that he would do an amazing job. I sat for 5 eight hour days in his shop - 2 one week and 3 the next - which is something that amazed me. Most artists come in late and work late, or cut longer sessions into multiple sessions. It was important to me that the hours weren't crazy because I have 4 kids at home. Our sessions were from 9-5, which worked great for me. Tony was all about starting the project and seeing it through once he had started! Everything from the stenciling and prep work to the cleanliness and the actual tattoo was incredibly meticulous and professional. We spent a good amount of time on cleaning and preparing my skin and placing the stencil which was nice. Tony said multiple times, "It's permanent so I want it to be perfect." Which I appreciated hearing! During the tattoo, sitting in the chair for all those hours, I had a blast and the hours flew by. Tony is a great guy, easy to talk to and a lot of fun. At times, his wife Stephanie and the other artist Nora, were also in the shop and we all got along great and it was pretty easy to feel like they were all friends pretty quickly. To be honest, now that those sessions are finished, I want to go back! As Tony worked on the tattoo, I got to see it come to life and watch him do what he does which was mind blowing. The art he created with his tattoo gun was PHENOMENAL and it is still surreal to me how this whole chance meeting turned brand new tattoo sleeve took place. While ontop of it all, I am so blown away by the tattoo that he did for me, I couldn't be more grateful. It is no wonder Tony has won so many awards for his work! Anyone, anywhere who asks me about it, I will tell them to go to Chariot Tattoo and see Tony. I did get to see Nora's and Stephanie's work while I was there and they, too, are masters of their craft and I will recommend them as well. A huge THANK YOU to Stephanie and Tony for everything so far and I can't wait to be back in the shop to finish my lasering and start the other arm!!
I have used there laser removal and have had artwork done by Norah P . Chariot has me stoked after not being tattooed for years, Stephanie is great with the state of the art laser equipment and Norah’s ideas are perfect helping to create what I want. Nora did an AMAZING job with my first tattoo! She was so patient while I made her move the stencil for an hour and so sweet through the whole process. The shop was super cool, good music and a calm vibe! Would 100% go again!
