Old Soul Tattoo

My dad and I had an amazing experience at Old Soul Tattoo in Boise with Ryan and Kiel! We were home for the holiday and decided last minute to get matching Ozzy tribute tattoos, and they made it happen the same day with zero stress. We reached out that morning, sent over the idea, and were able to schedule easily. Ryan (@fernweh_tattoo) worked with me and Kiel (@whatswrongkiel) worked with my dad, and they both absolutely nailed it. Great $ value for the work and experience, I could not be happier!! We tweaked the design together beforehand and Ryan executed exactly what I wanted, every detail and color included. The shop was super clean, the staff was warm and welcoming, and making us feel comfortable was clearly a priority. Ryan is phenomenal and super knowledgeable + happy to answer questions. He made me feel really safe, let me play my own music, and honestly made the whole experience fun! I got to nerd out over my favorite edm while getting tattooed, which helped a ton. What could’ve been intimidating felt relaxed and memorable instead and I’d recommend Old Soul Tattoo to anyone + absolutely come back for something bigger or multisession in the future!

Mariah is truly the BEST of the best for piercing! Never in my life have I ever had a more thorough piercing experience. She explained every step along the way in extensive detail, took my personal anatomy into careful consideration, was incredibly clean and just an overall sweetheart. If you have *any* fears or hesitations about piercing I cannot possibly recommend Mariah enough. She asked if I had any questions at the very end, and there wasn’t a single thing that I could think of that she hadn’t already talked about. Will only ever go to her for my piercing needs for here on out!

EDIT: changed rating because the Owner reached out to resolve the issue and to make things right. I feel most people wouldn’t do that and would just ride it out. Wouldn’t recommend. Won’t name drop anybody but my artist got what seemed to be lazy or very impatient as we finished the tattoo. The sleeve itself started very good. Did the 2nd half and he skimped on some details but it still looked alright. 3rd session seemed like he scribbled in between the 2 pieces. I texted about the finished product and it’s been I think 11 days now and still haven’t received even a response lol. What started as a solid foundation for a sleeve turned into a tattoo I don’t want anybody to see. So much so that I have a removal appointment scheduled already for June 21st as it has to be 8 weeks healed. And maybe this just goes for the one artist and rest actually care about the work they put out but for me if one artist is like that in a shop then automatically the assumption goes for the rest.
