TLDR: Highly recommend! Affordable, professional, reputable. Long version: I went in here second after receiving an inflated price quote from a more "popular" shop down the street. Green Light is the first shop in years to give me a fair price for a tattoo. Less than half my first quote. They're also some of the least pretentious artists I've worked with. My chosen tattoo style is to have significant symbols in simple black lines -- it's what I like and it's the kind of stuff any apprentice should be able to do. Yet every artist has seemed to look down their nose at the simplicity of what I want. I've had people pressure me to let them entirely change the art I'll have on my body for life. Thad at Green Light listened to me. More than that, he was incredibly professional when tattooing my (rather prominent) chest area. Honestly, his eyes never seemed to even slip accidentally, and he did his work with great attention to detail. Donna is also a great piercer I'd worked with years ago who is really sweet. Green Light is awesome. As a bonus, the same strip has some really cool retail shops. Go there.
I've had work done from two artists in this store but I've always got positive vibes from all of the artists here. This is a collection of talented people that truly love what they do and it shows in the amazing pieces I see done and the pieces I have done. I am confident there is not a single tattoo idea out there that someone in this shop can't execute on a masterful level. Shoutout to Trevor and Mason for handling all of my ink, and for being ballers.
I do NOT recommend this place and especially do NOT recommend Zach Phillips!! I went in with the simplest of designs, circles and a triangle, pretty easy I thought. His straight lines were not even close and even the outline of the circle was shakey and inconsistent. The points of the triangle are not clean in the slightest and one point is raised and scarred. Also, notice in the first picture how the continuation of the axe from one side of the circle to the opposite side do not line up. Bad work speaks for itself. He seems to be a nice enough guy and possibly a mediocre artist on canvas but a completely incompetent tattooist. Do your research and don't trust that just anyone can tattoo even the easiest of designs. Horrible, horrible, horrible!!!!!
