Good to know before you book
- Fine-line and micro work here demands a clear reference — bring high-res images and expect a short consult before the needle.
- Larger Japanese pieces are usually booked across multiple sittings — plan for at least two visits.
- Realism and portrait work depends heavily on reference quality — clean, well-lit source photos make the biggest difference.
- Walk-in availability isn't always posted online — a quick phone call is the fastest way to know if they can fit you in today.
- Calendars tend to book several weeks out — reach out as early as possible if you have a target date.

I've worked with Ray and have almost a half dozen custom tattoos by them. They is amazing and you should get on their books! The shop is great. Very calm space, everyone is friendly, and I've always felt welcome. It really sets the bar for what I expect from tattoo studios
Valkyrie has world-class artists and a clean, green, inspiring facility. They also have trans friendly restrooms! I saw Jan Kim for my tattoo ( @jandruff on Instagram). I have never met such a talented artist who was so down to earth about her work. She worked on me for over 10 hours and I was left with a masterpiece on my leg that I will have forever. Her line work and technical skill is excellent and she really set me at ease during the sitting. There is clearly something special about the team that has been cultivated here. They all are talented and have a cheerful rapport with one another. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners, Aadam, and wish I had been able to meet Saga and let her know how much I admire her portfolio. I can't wait to get another tattoo from this special place. It is hard to decide what artist I want to see next, although honestly Jan is a creative genius and I will likely get more work from her when I return! My sister saw Latesha--I recommend you check out her work as well (@elle_tattooer).
This review is specifically about my recent experience with Ray Corson. I had a positive experience with her several years ago when she was working at a different shop, which is why I felt comfortable booking with her again. In early September 2025, Ray responded to my tattoo inquiry and asked for a deposit to secure an appointment. After I sent the deposit, she reached out about a week later to say she needed to take personal time off and would have to reschedule my appointment for early 2026. Because that timeline was uncertain for me, I politely requested a refund. Unfortunately, she never responded. I’ve followed up several times since via text and e-mail, but she has continued to ignore all messages. It’s disappointing to have what was once a good professional relationship end this way. I’m sharing this so others are aware of my experience before booking.
