First and foremost, James's tattoo shop is probably cleaner than most hospital rooms. It's certainly unlike any other one I've seen. Now this is only my second tattoo I've ever had, but I have been in a few parlors. Anyways, I submitted a request online, he recommended I come in and we talk in person. After sharing my thoughts he was able to put something together that was perfect, and then we started brainstorming on another tattoo for a later date. This is exactly what I was looking for, someone who could give their honest opinion from the art standpoint and make my idea something better, because I do not have an artistic bone in my body. I have a feeling I'll be back sooner than later for some more.
James did an amazing job with a topographic map design for a half sleeve. It was my first time at Scarlet Tyde and the vibe is wonderful. Everything is clean and relaxed. The artist are friendly and easy to talk to. Shelby the front desk person is a delight and goes above and beyond! If you are looking for a modern feeling shop to go to with some great talent this is the place! I can't wait to have James and the guys blast some ink on me again!
I finally decided to get a tattoo. It took me awhile to find an artist I felt I could trust. James is an incredible artist, and an overall great guy. When I approached him with the design I wanted, he was the first artist that actually offered insight on the design, instead of just saying “yeah, I can do it”. His shop has a very relaxing atmosphere. Clean, organized, and friendly staff. When it came time for the tattoo, James was prepared, and when I arrived, we got right to it. I absolutely love the piece, and can’t wait to get my next!
