Paper Crane Books & Tattoo

The book store side is very niche, which is great if you're looking specifically for popular books, especially in the horror or dark romance or something off BookTok. The book merch is very targeted at the millennial generation. Again, not a bad thing, but I was able to instantly notice that I was the generation targeted. For the tattoo side, Chris is very knowledgeable and is clearly an artist who takes great pride in his work. However, for introverts he will talk over you. He is definitely a talker and if you are unable to assert yourself, he doesn't take noticable cues that you're attempting to engage him in a topic regarding a potential tattoo. Which can be disheartening for a potential client. Also noting some comments being made with client in the room regarding business issues makes it feel worrying as a tattoo parlor. I also wasn't given any aftercare instructions for my tattoo, which seemed very odd to me. While this company is welcoming and nice, with what appears to be lots of experience selling stuff and doing tattoos, I won't be a repeat customer due to the off vibes I felt. It's just not a place for me, while I can see it being a place for others. That's perfectly ok.

I was recommended to Kimmy from my tattoo artist. He said Kimmy is amazing and he worked with her before. I reached out after my tattoo appointment on how to schedule an appointment. A lady picked up and answered my questions and let me know I could just walk in. Little did I know the nice lady on the phone I spoke with was Kimmy! I have gotten my nose pierced two other times and I wanted to try one last time on the other side. Let me tell you; Kimmy was very professional and knowledgeable. Before she would do anything, she talked me thru what we were about to do. She made me feel at ease and relaxed. I highly recommend Paper Crane Books and Tattoo!!! Such a great experience from start to finish! Everyone at the shop was incredibly nice and made me feel right at home. The work turned out even better than I imagined I absolutely love my tattoo. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality work and great vibes!
