I had an amazing experience getting my nose pierced at Black Ink Tattoo. The manager treated me very well and explained everything clearly. My piercing has healed really well, and I’m very happy with the results. Highly recommend!

I paid a $100 deposit at an event for a tattoo appointment scheduled during the Villain Arts Tattoo Festival in New Orleans. Prior to the event, I attempted to contact the studio multiple times via email and text due to a federal government shutdown that directly affected my pay and ability to travel as an active-duty service member. No one responded before the convention. After the event passed, I was told the deposit was non-refundable per policy, despite the lack of communication beforehand and the fact that this appointment never occurred. I wasn’t asking to cancel on a whim — I was trying to resolve the situation in advance. Unfortunately, the response felt dismissive and entirely policy-driven rather than customer-focused. I understand deposits protect artists, but there was no effort made to acknowledge the circumstances or their lack of response.
