This is honestly my first bad review, but I feel like this experience and my story needs to be shared so others are also aware. I went to Lola’s Tattoo Shop to have my industrial bar reinserted by a piercer named Sam, who I now believe is not properly qualified. I originally had my industrial bar for about five years, healed and all, and I took it out for over a year, not realizing that cartilage piercings can shrink over time and are very different from earlobe piercings. When I went in, the holes had clearly gotten smaller. Instead of using proper tools or even a needle to safely repierce or reopen the industrial bar holes, she forcefully shoved the jewelry back through my ear. It was extremely painful, but as a customer, I assumed this was normal because I trusted that the piercer was a professional. This was done in January, and it is now December. From January through March, my entire ear was swollen, blown up, bright red and ugly, which I again assumed was normal. Eventually, my ear began bleeding, crusting, and the holes never healed, which didn’t make sense since this was supposedly just a jewelry reinsertion. I went to a different piercing shop for an industrial consultation because I had a feeling something was very wrong, and they immediately recommended removing the industrial bar. I was told that the way the jewelry was reinserted in my ear was very dangerous. I now have damage and scarring on the top of my ear. I was told it should improve over time, but I am extremely frustrated that this could have been avoided if proper techniques were used. I have felt extremely embarrassed and insecure about how my ear looked, even with the industrial bar in, thinking it was my fault or just my anatomy and the way my ear healed, but learning the truth from my friends and even a reputable piercing place was truly heartbreaking and scary, knowing my ear went through something so traumatic. Unfortunately, this wasn’t my only bad experience at this shop. Before realizing how unsafe they were, I also got my daith pierced here by Dave. He inserted a hoop that was way too small, leaving no room for swelling or proper healing. I only learned this when I went to a new, reputable shop. The new piercer actually had to cut the hoop out of my ear because it was so small. I was told it looked more like jewelry used for a nipple piercing and was the completely wrong jewlery for a daith. I later got a larger hoop put in, but the skin around my daith is still inflamed (though not painful). I was also told that the original piercing did not even go fully through the cartilage. The new shop I have been going to has seen daith piercings like mine heal fully over time, so I’m hopeful, but this whole situation was unnecessary. Lola’s Tattoo Shop is cheap, and that alone should be a red flag. Reputable piercing shops typically charge separately for the piercing service and the jewelry, which makes them more expensive but much safer. I can’t speak on their tattoos since I haven’t gotten one from here, but I strongly recommend not getting pierced at this shop. They clearly do not know what they are doing since they are a tattoo shop. Since switching to a reputable piercing place, I’ve gotten a conch piercing with zero issues, and it is healing beautifully. Please do your research before trusting a shop with your body. Cheap is not worth the risk. I am also providing photos that document my journey with the industrial bar reinsertion and daith piercing, from the very beginning up until the present, in chronological order.

This gem of a place is truly awesome! The facilities are clean and creative! The staff is accommodating, polite and kind! It is one of the friendliest places you’ll ever go will ever go to!! I’ve had multiple tattoos done and a nose piercing and each artist was able to articulate and create exactly what I wanted! My daughter hit her first tattoo there and it was a fantastic experience for her! Anna Bors is phenomenal as is every other artist there! If you are thinking of new ink, definitely check out Lola’s
