I had an amazing experience getting my Japanese geometric style tattoo, and I honestly can’t recommend Mervin enough. His attention to detail, precision, and deep understanding of the style really stood out, and the final result exceeded my expectations. On top of his talent, Mervin’s energy is so good—calm, positive, and welcoming—which made the entire session feel relaxed and comfortable. If you’re thinking about getting tattooed here, you should definitely visit for the professionalism, the clean and well-organized studio, and an artist who truly cares about his work and his clients. Everything felt well thought out, from the consultation to the actual tattooing process. Even small details stood out, like how clean the space was and the fact that they even have a really nice restroom, which just adds to the overall comfort of the experience. I’m extremely happy with how my tattoo turned out and would absolutely come back to Mervin again. Highly recommend.

This is hands down the cleanest tattoo shop I’ve been to in San Diego. Mervin did my chrysanthemum tattoo and a cover-up for me, and the entire experience from start to finish was amazing. His shop in Hillcrest is spotless, well-organized, and immediately makes you feel at ease. Mervin is extremely professional and takes the time to make sure you’re comfortable throughout the whole process, which is a big reason I keep coming back. You can tell he takes real pride in all of his work—especially with how well he handled the cover-up—and it shows in the final result. Beyond his talent, he genuinely has a good soul and creates such a positive, welcoming environment. I couldn’t recommend him more.

The Tattoo Temple is the place to be! The atmosphere is trendy and welcoming. The artists there are insanely talented, especially my girl, Holly. Holly has done all of my tattoos, and I will only go to her. She deserves all of the love because she is THAT good. I send everyone I know to her because she truly values creating something magical for each individual client. She is beyond brilliant, and deserves the world. I am obsessed with her precise line work, especially in her realism art. If you are looking to get a tattoo soon, the Tattoo Temple is where it’s at.
