I received a conch ear piercing only 4 days ago. The staff was extremely nice, especially my piercer. The day I got my piercing was a pleasant experience. 2 days later my ear got severely swollen, red, and caused immense pain. The pain would wake me up in the middle of the night and even cause immense pain after taking Ibuprofen. I returned to Ink Couture to see if they had the correct size earring I needed to allow room for the swelling I had. The manager brought out a stud that was what I needed but it was not a flat back, so he could not give it to me. The piercing I had, which had to be removed with tools by another piercing artist from a different tattoo shop, had a ball on the back. I am not sure exactly if ear cartilage is considered part of the "earlobe" according to the state of Texas, but I do know that apprentices are required to have their mentor observing for any other piercing besides the earlobe according to the Texas Department of State Health Services. The manager said he allowed the apprentice to pierce me because they had performed the exact piercing at least 10 times. Also on the website they have the apprentice listed with the other piercing "professionals". Even though the piercing process went smoothly, I find it misleading to have that on the website. When I returned to see if they had the recommended size jewelry I needed by my piercer, Ink Couture said they did not have it in stock. They said I was pierced with the correct size jewelry, but still, why would they allow me to be pierced if they did not have the correct longer stud just in case, as it is very common to have to get longer studs for swollen ear piercings? They also told me that I had improperly cleaned my ear, but this is my seventh time getting an ear piercing (2nd cartilage piercing) and I have not had problems this bad. I cleaned my fresh piercing just as the piercer told me to with saline solution. I actually cleaned it 3 times instead of 2 because of how severe the state of my ear was. So how could it be a cleaning problem on my end? This is the first bad review I have ever written, and it does make me very sad to write this, as on that Friday all of the staff members were so kind to me. The apprentice was also so kind, trying to help me with tending to my symptoms. The other tattoo shop that had the jewelry I needed stated that this was the 3rd time in a week people from Ink Couture called to fix a bad piercing. I don't know if this is true or not, but this whole ordeal caused me a lot of distress in such a short amount of time.
I’ve gotten pierced by a bunch of different shops but I had the BEST experience getting pierced by Giselle. She made me feel so comfortable and the piercing came out PERFECT!! The shop itself is really cute too and all the staff there is super friendly! I would definitely recommend coming here to get tattooed and/or to definitely get pierced!
Emma did such an amazing job! she was very professional and friendly. I had such a pleasant experience. I love that there was private rooms for getting tattooed, made it very relaxing. I will DEFINITELY be coming back for my next tattoos!! :):)
