Great first tattoo experience from Joe Romero. I walked in, asked for a personal design, he drew it up and I was done in about an hour. He was a funny dude, charged a fair price, and made my first tattoo relaxed and easy. Everything healed great and looking good about 3 weeks later. Highly recommend!

Joe Romero and Tracy Zumwalt at Anchor Tattoo are truly something special. There’s inspiration everywhere, so you’re never short on ideas. Joe is insanely talented across all styles, but his traditional work is what really keeps me coming back. The bold lines, clean execution, and timeless look of the pieces he’s done for me are exactly what I love — they heal beautifully and stay strong and vibrant. I’ve followed Joe to multiple locations over the years, from Everett to Spokane, and I’ve even seen him working at art conventions — that’s how much I trust his work and consistency. I’ve also brought many of my friends and family to him because I know they’ll be taken care of and leave with something they love. Tracy, the shop owner, sets the tone for the entire place. He runs Anchor Tattoo with so much heart, professionalism, and genuine passion for tattooing. You can tell he truly cares about his artists and clients, and that’s what gives the shop such a comfortable, homey, positive vibe. Both Joe and Tracy clearly love what they do, and it shows in every detail — from the art on the walls to the tattoos they create. My two friends and I walked into Anchor Tattoo with an idea and absolutely zero plan, and somehow, we walked out with incredible, unique tattoos and a new favorite artist: Joe! Joe is truly the maestro of the moment. He took our chaotic, spontaneous energy and somehow turned it into three perfect pieces of art. The whole process was genuinely a blast—he was hilarious, sweet, and made us feel instantly comfortable. Honestly, getting tattooed by Joe felt less like a scary needle appointment and more like hanging out with the funniest, most talented person at a party. We were laughing the entire time, and he handled our collective indecision with grace and expert guidance. If you’re looking for high-quality work, a perfectly clean studio, and an artist who is going to make your day ten times better, go see Joe.
