Deep Roots Tattoo and Body Piercing Seattle

Had an excellent experience at Deep Roots on 2/20/26. I made a last-minute, same-day appointment with Bear and also planned on doing a walk-in for my ears to be pierced. They didn't have any availability for a piercing walk-in, but that was super understandable and walk-in is never guaranteed! Skylar working up front is so kind and knowledgeable while I was browsing jewelry waiting for my tattoo appointment - they went out of their way to help me get my nose ring sized by John, piercer - I can't recommend their customer service enough. Bear rules, and I will be going back and working on more pieces with him for sure. As a heavily tattooed woman, I've been in my fair share of shops where the vibe is very "rough and tumble", old-school misogyny type thing, and I've also been uncomfortable in many shops before or working with male tattooers - it is truly hit or miss, that's just my experience. Bear has actually restored my hope that there are good dudes out there who do killer work, make great conversation, have a working moral compass, and don't try to price gouge you. I had such a great time, love my new work, and am stoked to make my next appointment! Go see Bear for killer traditional work and just a good time in general, I can't wait for our next session. Go to Deep Roots if you want an environment that has good energy, that's queer-friendly, and community oriented, which we need now more than ever. Thank you Bear and Deep Roots!!!

Absolutely recommended!! So I stopped in here over the weekend to get some piercings with my sister and 💯% recommend this shop to you, not only were we both thrilled with the results, but the knowledgeable professionals they had were so awesome!! All the staff absolutely so polite and encouraging. John did my first piercings in 20+ years and made the experience so easy and fun! Will definitely be back 😆

I love coming to Deep Roots. I've gotten a few piercings from other places and my experiences at the U-District, Seattle location are consistent and keep me coming back. Vibes: They are welcoming, non-judgmental, clean, ready to educate, and help pick out jewelry based on your budget without it feeling pressure-y. I appreciate that they typically have walk-in availability, and that each piercer and sales associate has been kind and helpful. Getting pierced: I've gotten pierced by Francheska (nostril), Kaylen (septum), and Otto (philtrum). I highly recommend all three of them based on my personal experience, but trust that the other piercers in the studio are equally as knowledgeable and warm. I appreciated how I was walked through the process each time, and they would warned me/noted when I might feel pain before they did something to my face. Bonus points that Francheska, Kaylen, and Otto socialized with me to keep my mind off the piercing pain! Pricing - Jewelry: These are reasonable prices for the quality of body jewelry and the sales staff are fantastic at helping you pick something out within your budget. As someone with sensitive skin, the quality of the jewelry has mattered during healing, and I think this is pretty average pricing. Pricing - Service: Same as above. You're paying for quality, knowledgeable, professional services, and it's average pricing. Thanks for keeping my body pierced and pretty, y'all!
