The Nail Place of Charleston

I booked the Charleston pedicure ($47) online, but from the moment I sat down I was pressured to “upgrade” to more expensive options—even after repeatedly saying no. The tech rolled her eyes, sighed, and made comments comparing my choice to my friend’s “better” deluxe pedicure. The upselling didn’t stop there—$25 extra just for gel polish (which is unusually high), and I was told $5 to remove old gel. At checkout, they changed it to $10, even though both the tech and manager originally quoted $5. When I questioned it, the manager refused to come out and the front desk just insisted “no, it’s $10.” In the end, I paid more than the deluxe pedicure. The service itself was just as bad: rushed, minimal effort, and clearly done with attitude. My toenails were barely filed, the scrub was seconds long, the bottoms of my feet were still dirty, the old white gel polish was still visible on the edges, and the “massage” was nonexistent. The entire experience felt unprofessional, unpleasant, and dishonest. I’ve never left a salon feeling so disappointed. Between the constant upselling, rude behavior, and poor quality of the pedicure itself, I would strongly recommend going anywhere else.

The Nail Place is by far the best nail salon in Charleston! Whether you need some last minute and have to be out in 30 minutes, or you want a design, or a relaxing pedicure, they do it all! All the staff makes you feel as if you are family and I feel happier the second I walk in! Marilyn does my nails and her work is incredible, but I would trust anyone there to give me exactly what I need! Could not recommend enough!

Giving 4 stars but it has the potential to be five stars. The tech was trying to do multiple clients at one time that I believe took from the $120 ultimate pedicure experience I was expecting. Left us with excess oil and lotion all over. Could focus more on the experience. My wife got her nails painted and she says all the nail tools were dirty and used. Nice setting and very pleasant staff.
