The Beauty Bar at Geist

I’ve gone to MJ the past couple years for eyebrow waxing and I absolutely ADORE her. She’s amazing at what she does, makes you feel comfortable even with your first visit, listens to what you want, makes sure you are happy with the final product, etc. I could go on and on! She’s absolutely amazing! The entire salon staff is incredible as well. Everyone is so welcoming and friendly and the facility is so clean! 10/10 recommend MJ and The Beauty Bar as a whole!

Edit: this salon privately emailed me and accused me of simply “feeling” as if my hair was shorter despite it actually being at least 3in shorter than what was communicated. I had multiple personal conversations with family members about my desired length - why would I suddenly ask for shorter hair when arriving at my appointment and then also change my mind back afterward and lodge a complaint? They said they checked in with the stylist and essentially invalidated my concerns by saying they disagreed. I added a photo for reference and for transparency. The tone of the public review response and private email were different. Also, I have no idea how a front desk associate would be able to comment on my desired hair length or what was communicated to the stylist. I feel the complaint was polite and understanding but asked for a refund. They said no and decided to completely dispute what I stated. I will still not be returning. __________________________________________ I had my first and only haircut here today. I’m not going to publicly name the stylist because maybe it’s an off day, but it was not a good experience. The stylist was by no means rude, but she cut my hair a lot shorter than I explicitly asked. I was clear that I wanted to “keep some length” and even showed where I wanted it to land but I borderline have a long bob now. It was down past my chest and it’s now about collarbone length. Further, I was at no point asked my preference or opinion after the initial discussion. I didn’t get to see the completed cut before she curled my hair. I have no idea if I’m happy with the quality of the cut because I never saw it before it was curled and curls hide a lot. She curled my hair, teased my roots a bit, used a lot of product.. all things that I have strong preferences against but again, I was not consulted at any point during or after the haircut on what I wanted. I actually did not want my hair curled because I have an event tonight that I wanted straight hair for. I was never even asked where I typically part my hair. I had to interject and correct it. Again, she was not rude, in fact when she did talk to me she was pleasant and kind. But I do not feel like I got what I asked for or like there were any check-ins for preference. I would not recommend this salon for these reasons.

I have been going to the Beauty Bar at Geist for years! I love Whitney and she always does an amazing job on my cut and color. I highly recommend the Beauty Bar.
