This was my first time at Freya. I booked with Abigail and I’m sooo happy I found her. She listened to what I was looking for in a cut and gave me exactly what I wanted and more! She literally transformed my hair! She is a pro (and also just a joy to sit and chat with for the hour+). She also taught me step by step how to style my hair, and I didn’t even have to ask. She’s amazing. I’ve been looking for a new salon for over 2 years and the vibes were great - from the girls that checked me in/out, to all the other stylists around. Can’t wait to come back for my color appointment!
I had such a great experience with Abigail. I genuinely trust her with my hair. She’s so gentle, thoughtful, and takes the time to share styling tips and aftercare, which I really appreciate. You can tell she truly cares about what she does. Go book with her! She’s a gem! 💕
I had a very disappointing experience at this salon and unfortunately left with a haircut that looks nothing like what I asked for. Before my appointment, I showed the stylist (Cindy) a reference photo of a blunt bob and clearly explained that I only wanted my current bob cleaned up. I specifically said I wanted a blunt cut with just a slight lift in the back and emphasized that I absolutely did not want a short, stacked “Karen” style haircut. During most of the haircut I was asked to keep my head tilted down, which meant I couldn’t see what was happening in the back. I trusted the stylist as a professional to follow the reference and the instructions we discussed. Unfortunately, the final result looks nothing like the photo I provided. A significant amount of my hair was cut off, especially in the back, and the cut is heavily layered instead of blunt. My hair is now so short that I can’t even put it into a ponytail anymore, which is something I intentionally wanted to keep the ability to do. Another concerning part of the experience was how rough the service felt. The brushing and blow drying were extremely aggressive, to the point where it genuinely felt like my hair was being pulled and breaking. It was uncomfortable and did not feel like the careful handling you would expect from a professional stylist. After getting home and looking further into the stylist, I also noticed another review describing a similar negative experience, which made the situation even more disappointing. I also learned the salon has a strict no-refund policy, only offering adjustments. Unfortunately, after this experience, I do not feel comfortable returning to have any adjustments done and I don’t want to lose any more of my hair. I understand that haircuts don’t always turn out perfectly, but this was a major departure from both the reference photo and the clear instructions I provided. I’m sharing this so others can be aware and make informed decisions when booking. I scheduled this appointment to treat myself and make myself feel better. Instead I ended up going home to cry and now have to deal with growing this out for several months and have a haircut I am uncomfortable in.
