J&S Head Spa

I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful this experience was. The steam and the halo were an added treat to the amazing scalp massage I received. I had read reviews of the smoky smell but they informed me they are no longer doing that service and are working on eliminating the smell. When you walk in you do smell a faint smell of the smoke but the treatment room smelled very nice and I didn't smell smoke at all in there. They were very nice and professional.

This is a bittersweet review… My sister and I went for a head spa and facial the day after Thanksgiving. Both treatments were incredible! Very relaxing, technicians were skilled. We were initially impressed. However, there’s an overwhelming scent of “cigarette smoke” in the building. I’m aware it’s not actually from cigarettes. It’s a Chinese herbal remedy they offer, moxibustion. Both of our hair reeked of it once we left. It took washing several times to get the smell out which was unfortunate because we left there feeling our hair was extremely clean and silky soft. I could’ve gone an entire week without having to wash it had it not been for that awful smell. I should note I have very long thick hair, sisters is short and it took both of us washing it over and over to get the smell out. If I were to make a suggestion to the owners, get rid of the moxibustion service and clean the building of the smell. The sketchy location and lack of English could be overlooked for the incredible head spa/facial treatments you give.

It was a nice experience but the smell of cigarette smoke is overwhelming. They say it's some mugwort thing but you leave the place smelling like cigarettes. I had to shower and change clothes when I got home which defeats the purpose of the head spa. I don't think it's worth the $65 for that and would rather go somewhere else.
