Unfortunately after my most recent experience I will not be returning. I have gotten my lash lift/tint done here about 6 or so times now. They hire really young lash techs which has normally been fine, even though I have had some concerns with skill level, and professionalism over the past visits, my lashes ended up looking fine. However, my last visit was awful. I called in to ask about availability and was told they were able to see me. I arrived, waited an additional 30 minutes which was fine as it was a last minute appt. The issue is that (who I’m assuming is the owner) clearly overbooked herself and the other young tech. The young tech was clearly overwhelmed and was provided no assistance. The younger tech saw me, and left me alone periodically through the spot to answer the door, phone, check in clients. As a result the lash glue was left on extremely long. This was so obvious and yet the yech didn’t mention anything, offer any apologies and in fact she let me leave with my lashes looking worse than when I came in. My lashes are heathy and naturally long they just don’t hold a curl. However with her scrubbing my eyelids AGGRESSIVELY multiple times to try and fix her mistake, my lashes were left a mess. The lighting is really dim and at that point I was so stunned at the confidence in their clear mistake that I was ready to leave. Clearly the tech was overworked and it seemed like she stayed past her shift as she rushed out understandably. I’m not terribly upset with her, though in future if a mistake is made it is absolutely best to let a client know and be honest so that you resolve it right away. Instead I felt gaslit and really uncomfortable. I paid, tipped (yeah I know that was optional, but I’m clearly way too nice and would absolutely take that back now). I took pictures of my awful lashes that night and as they were closing already I called the next morning to let them know that my lashes were absolutely not lifted and not tinted. I spoke with the tech that did my lashes and she again just pretended like it was normal and did not own up to the mistake. At that point I wanted a refund. She said she could fit me in to get them fixed at a much girthed location but that she would (understandably) need manager approval do a refund. It was the well end so the manager would be back two days later on Monday. She asked that I send in pics of my lashes. I did. I hated the thought of so much wasted money for what is a self care luxury for me ($150!) that I caved and said ok to fix them and I’d drive 30 minutes out of my way to their other location. The tech that did my lashes was at the front desk-again no acknowledgement of their mistake. I was then passed along to another young tech who has done my lashes before and though they were clearly new to the skills-they did turn out nice before. Not this time though and that is overall my reason for leaving this review. I asked this tech what the reasoning was for the bad lift-knowing that it was likely that the solution was left on way too long. She confirmed that was likely the case and asked how long it was left on. She then redid my lashes quickly, but at the end of the visit, while they looked better than before-they still looked really badly done. They were so curled up into my eyelid that I could feel them stabbing me once I was home. They were very clumpy and not separated at all and the lift was only slightly better. I’m never getting a lash lift again after this experience. I’ve had wonderful experiences elsewhere, but I’ve just learned that one bad experience can ruin your lashes or cause serious harm. I think this studio employs too inexperienced techs who don’t have enough confidence and people skills to fix their mistakes properly. I also think there is too much pressure on them to make sales and get appts and not enough focus on their skill and professionalism. It’s been a week after my visit and while my lashes are slightly lifted, they are clumpy and haphazard like I slept on my face and my lashes. This was long, but I hope it helps you decide.
I usually don’t leave reviews, even after a bad experience, but I feel this one needs to be shared. I’ve had waxing done at many places in Seattle, and unfortunately this was by far the worst experience. I got a Brazilian wax, and right after the service I checked and told her that a lot of hair hadn’t been removed. She said it was because my hair was too short, but it had been about five weeks since my last wax, so the length was more than appropriate. If my hair truly had been too short, that should have been communicated before starting the service, or the remaining hair should have been removed with tweezers. In reality, about half of the area wasn’t properly waxed at all. I still paid in full, including tip. When I got home, I had to remove a lot of the remaining hair myself with tweezers. Even worse, the next day, hair started growing back in areas that she had supposedly waxed (not the areas I tweezed myself). It seems like the hair was broken instead of being properly removed. I have never experienced this with a Brazilian wax before. When I voiced my concern, she responded very confidently, which made it uncomfortable for me to ask her to fix it, but I really wish the service had been done more carefully and thoroughly. If this is the level of service, I might as well do it myself. She was kind and friendly, but my priority was the quality of the hair removal, not conversation
I have been seeing Jacquelyn for over 4 years for lashes and I ended up leaving my beloved lady who did my hair for over a decade to do that with Jacquelyn as well. I live 1 1/2 hours away but anywhere closer to my home that I have tried does not compare. Everyone is great!
