Vato Loco Tattoo & Piercing

I recently visited this shop to get my belly button pierced, and I want to start by saying that the staff was very sweet and welcoming. The piercer was kind throughout the process, and overall the environment felt comfortable and professional. When the placement was marked, I assumed it was correct since I’m not a piercer and trusted the judgment of someone with experience. In the beginning, everything seemed fine, but as time went on it began healing improperly. After showing my piercing to a few friends and then consulting another shop, I was informed that it had not been placed in the correct area and was sitting more on my stomach, making it a surface piercing. Unfortunately, this meant I had to remove it due to improper healing. I want to make it clear that this review isn’t meant to be negative or written with bad intentions. I’m sharing this simply to bring awareness, because proper placement and assessing someone’s anatomy is so important with piercings. Having to take it out, wait months to re-pierce it, pay again, and deal with scarring could hopefully be prevented for future clients with a little more care in placement. Other than this issue, the team was very kind, and I hope this feedback helps improve the experience for others moving forward.
