Got my first tattoo ever and after doing my research I decided to come to skyline tattoo. Skyler was not only extremely professional and kind, but he took the time to come up with numerous designs for me and worked with me to pinpoint the final tattoo design. Skyler is an incredibly skilled tattoo artist and I would highly recommend his services! I am beyond happy with the tattoo I got; It was for some special people in my life and it could not have turned out better. The studio was also extremely clean and well put together. Thank you very much for the tattoo and for your time Skyler! Best tattoo shop in Colorado.
I am not someone who usually leaves negative reviews, but I feel it is important to share my experience. I try to be mindful that artists need to make a living, so when I was told the hourly rate had changed, I agreed. I had worked with this artist before, trusted her, and liked her work. We agreed on a price range of 2000 dollars for the design. I paid the deposit with the understanding that the remaining balance would be paid after my final session. I was happy with the work until my last session. When we finished, I noticed changes had been made to the design without my knowledge, specifically a cloud on the lower arm that was part of the original design had been left out. When I asked about it, I was told it was removed because it took away from the main design. I explained that another cloud had been incorporated elsewhere and that the piece now looked off. I was told it could be added during a touch up session. At that point, I paid the remaining balance, trusting it would be corrected. Because I live out of state, we had to reschedule. However, my rescheduled date was never put on the calendar. When I followed up, I was informed of the next available weekend, only to later find out that another client had been booked on the date I was supposed to be scheduled. I was then told I would be charged extra for the touch up. I had planned to tip during the touch up session, but I felt it was unethical to be charged additional money for correcting a design change that was made without my consent. Artists should not set a price and design that they cannot fully deliver on. The original design was altered without discussion, and I was expected to pay more to fix it. This felt non transparent and unprofessional. Due to the lack of communication, transparency, and unexpected price increases, I have chosen to discontinue services and will be seeking other professional help to correct the design.
A tattoo for me is personal and should come to life in a story. I searched many different states and artist and fell in love with what I saw on Skylar’s instagram. I was hooked and decided to travel from Virginia to Colorado for my first tattoo. From the moment I met Skylar I was impressed. He took my ideas from an email and a few pictures and made my cancer journey come to life. Dealing with prostate cancer, I wanted my emotions of my first year of treatment to be seen in art. Skylar’s work was amazing and his love of what he does comes through. We spent over seven hours together and in one sitting my battle came alive and it is an inspiration for the next year. I highly recommend Skyler’s his line work, color, and realistic depth brought focus to my life.
