I had some reservations about getting my first tattoo, so nervous I wouldn’t find the right artist. But the right artist was here. Mike was phenomenal, able to get both my brother and I in on two different days. And my brother was visiting from out of town. I had the absolute BEST experience and couldn’t thank them enough for the time and incredible work. Some of the lines were very fine and turned out amazing. I highly recommend them to others. There was so much detail and Mike nailed it. I will absolutely be returning in the future.

This is my first tattoo! I had been going back and forth on getting one forever, but I finally decided to take the dive. I had an idea in my head of a meaningful design to me: a Phoenix going from black at the tail to the colors of the gay male flag. The idea of rebirth from only seeing myself as straight (black) growing up in a religious background to finally accepting myself as gay (the colors of the flag). Marty Boe at Bearcat Tattoo Gallery created this amazing design using this idea! I fell in love with the design immediately when he showed me the morning of my appointment. He was so amazing throughout the process of getting my first tattoo and with explaining the aftercare process. Now that it has been a couple of weeks, I just had to show off this beautiful work of art he created!

This is one of the most talented studios in San Diego with actual tattoo ARTISTS! They go by appointments and are normally booked 1-10 months out depending on the artist, but for a piece that is going to be on your body for the rest of your life it's worth it. I got lucky by following my favorite artists on Instagram I was able to get in earlier due to a cancelation. I'll post some photos of the shop and my current tattoo: it's going to be full color when we finish it. The place is very clean and everyone was very friendly. They even gave me a free t-shirt to give to my 3 year old daughter! These guys are definitely in the top 5% of tattoo artists in terms of skill and talent. I've definitely found my tattoo shop for life! Do yourself a favor and come here - you'll never regret it.
