I had such a great experience with Evelyn. She was incredibly friendly, professional, and made me feel comfortable from start to finish. While the receptionists weren’t as warm as I expected, it was well worth it for Evelyn alone. I’m visiting from out of state and usually have my go-to wax person back home, but this was much-needed self-care while traveling. I actually relied on ChatGPT to help me find the most sought-after waxer based on positive reviews and it led me straight to Evelyn. I’m so grateful I chose her. After waiting a long time between waxes, sensitivity can be a lot more intense, but Evelyn’s technique and breathing instructions made a huge difference. She was gentle, reassuring, and clearly very skilled. I would absolutely recommend Evelyn to any friends or family in Texas, and I wouldn’t hesitate to book with her again. Thank you, Evelyn!
Wax was good. I liked that the wax specialist asked questions about how I wanted my brows before during and after to make sure we were in agreement before she removed too much. I didn’t personally catch her name but text message received said it was Evelyn, so I hope that’s correct because I did like her. My issue is the front desk. They are always pushy with the membership or setting up future appointments at time of check out. I understand they have to promote but I politely let them know ahead of time I’m good, no appts no membership just check out and they get pushy about how they will finish their spiel no matter what I want, (tone not words, they even cut me off.)They try “shaming” you if you don’t want to “save” with the membership. Appts don’t work for my schedule it’s easier for me to call when I can make time to come and take whatever they have available. While I like the wax I’m ready to go elsewhere just to avoid the front desk at this point.
I referred my mother to the European Wax Center at the Quarry location hoping she would have a positive, professional experience, especially given the high prices for services. What happened instead was shocking and deeply upsetting. My mother, who is in her 70s and has vertigo, was treated rudely and dismissively when she politely asked for the chair to be reclined. (And I even called beforehand explaining her situation and they assured me she would be accommodated)The esthetician snapped at her and spoke in a tone that made her feel ashamed, old, and completely worthless. While the service was eventually completed, the way she was treated was humiliating and unnecessary. Just because someone is older does not mean they deserve less respect, in fact, they deserve more care and attention. The dismissive attitude, lack of empathy, and overall unprofessional behavior made my mother feel degraded and left a mark on what should have been a simple, enjoyable experience. I am extremely disappointed and offended that a place I trusted would treat a client this way. This was not just a minor mistake or miscommunication, it was disrespectful, discriminatory, and completely unacceptable. People deserve to know how they will be treated, and this experience has made it clear that this center failed to provide even basic respect and care. I hope management takes this seriously and ensures that no other client has to go through such humiliating treatment.
